Music Video: Aiin! by Mini Moni

This video has been circling the internet under such titles as "Worst Music Video Ever" and other wtf-kind of names. If you ask me though, I think it's genius.

First of all, admit it: even if this is your first time viewing this or not, you couldn't help but click the play button again. See? I told you so. *Note to self: investigate the probability of a giant conspiracy behind addicting dance videos*

A few facts about this piece of art: The band is called Mini Moni (or Minimoni) and was founded with one rule, all members must be 1.5m (4ft and 11in) or shorter. The single containing this track was released in 2002. The group's main target group were children and young teens but it soon gained older fans, including us!

Music Video: Yatta by Happatai

Because if you haven't seen this music video, you haven't seen anything.

This song has been puzzling and exciting us westerners in equal amounts (something the Japanese know how to do well). If you've spotted videos of young men and boys sporting nothing but a diaper and a green leaf, proclaiming triumphantly "Yatta!", this is the cause.

The origins of Happatai and their song "Yatta!" date back to 2001, when the song was first performed on a comedy sketch, on the show "Adventures of a Laughing Dog"  (笑う犬の冒険, Warau Inu no Bōken) aka "Silly Go Lucky" in the US. 


Happatai (also known as the "Leaf Squad" or "Green Leaves") is a parody pop boy band, and we must admit we can't get enough of them.
